Hello Gathering Place Community!
I hope you are all doing well!
The Gathering Place has been a GREAT place of making connections, building community, and addressing social needs in our northern Spokane County communities. As many of you know, Ron has decided to shift his focus away from GP and I, Aleya (current intern), have temporarily taken over coordinating this event. We have plans in place through May '26, but after this next gathering, I will no longer be interning with New Hope/Gathering Place due to finishing college but we wish to continue in the future with hopes that another community member (or two) will be able to take the lead in future events.
Thank you all so much for being such an advocate for our gathering place events. We do hope you will continue to be a part of this amazing community. Ron will still be available on Tuesdays/Thursdays in the New Hope office, so do come visit! Best wishes for each one of you!!
May's Event:May 6, 26' -- Matter of Balance - Phil H from ALTCEW and Lizzie, a Physical Therapist Professor at Whitworth University who will share some exercise techniques.
At this time, we do not know what will take place after May, but we are prayerfully seeking a program coordinator, additional support team members, and activities.
Several participants and volunteers are willing to do various activities / projects, etc. as well. I believe this community has what it takes to keep moving forward. So please, keep up the great work! Come build community! Embrace one another! Together The Gathering Place will continue to flourish! Feel free to invite anyone else interested. Just keep in mind while there is an emphasis on seniors, all adults are welcome to join us, but need to either be independent or have a caregiver as we do not provide healthcare service.
